GOLDEN STATE APOTHECARY

Get Ready For the Holidays!

Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm

It’s the holiday season once again, and we at Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm feel this year has just flown by! We hope that everyone has an amazing Thanksgiving celebration, but its important to remember Christmas is right around the corner!

That being said, we will be taking the farmstand on the road, first stopping at the Koehler Winery Holiday Market on November 18th. Next, we’ll be stopping at Sunstone Wineries’ Holiday Market on December 2nd and 3rd, and finally we'll be at the Enchanted Lights at SYV Botanic Garden on December 8th- 10th and the following week from the 15th- 17th.

The Enchanted Lights at the SYV Botanical Garden is especially popular amongst the Santa Barbara County community, why not stop by and do your holiday shopping before it’s too late!

New Tools Make Us Smile! 😃

Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm

It's been a busy week here at Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm, we just got in the mail our new Besel Lavender Processing Machine, all I can say is it's gonna make work around the farmstand go even faster!

This piece of equipment takes the lavender buds straight off the bundle while removing dust and sorting out any of the debris to give you just the bud itself, don’t take my word for it, watch it do its thing!

Once it finishes, this is the result that we are left with! Now we'll take the bud and use it in all the great local Santa Barbara County products you know and love!

Here's another look at how the machine sorts and separates, truly an amazing piece of equipment!

Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm

Today we had one of our new friends stop by Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm to pick up some culinary lavender from the farmstand, Justine from The Tipsy Wagon!

Justine is a wonderful lady who runs a mobile bar out of a converted horse trailer, its pretty amazing, and so are the cocktails she makes!

If you've got an event to do in the Santa Barbara area, be sure to check them out they do some amazing work!

Always Fun Meeting A New Friend!

Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm

Now that we are in the offseason here at Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm, we’ve been hard at work harvesting, processing, and distilling all our lavender while cleaning up the upper field, ain’t no rest for the wicked, as it were!

While we've been working around the farmstand, we happened to be contacted by a local wildlife photographer named Deborah Kalas, and the photos she has been taking are simply stunning! Here's a sampling from the first day she came to take pictures.

This first smattering of Goldfinch photos was amazing but Deborah came a little later in the day and around this part of Santa Barbara County the birds start to head home, so she came back again and got these photos! Simply breathtaking the one of the two finches with the seed!

If you would like to see more of Deborah's beautiful shots, check out her instagram at dkalas_art or just go to her website! We've been enjoying the heck our of the shots she's done, be sure to check out our Instagram as well as we get new shots!

Sabrina's Shots From The Farm To Table Dinner!

Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm

Now that the afterglow from Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm’s first annual Farm to Table Dinner is starting to wear off, Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm is in the process of doing some routine chores when Sabrina Chavez, our friend and a local professional photographer, sent over the photos she did while we were busy entertaining during the Farm to Table Dinner. Here’s a look at all the people who helped make the night special Nuh from Nuh Bartending, Grady DiPietro our musical accompaniment for the night, and of course Denise the owner with executive chef of SY Kitchen and Nella Luca who was onsite baking his signature Pinzas, so delicious!!

Everyone had a wonderful time, how could they not? It was amazing food and an amazing time, a true highlight of Santa Barbara County!

We received a ton of feed back after the event, all of it positive, which means we will be turning the Farm To Table Dinner into an annual event! Missed Our Events? Plan Your Own!

Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm

With all of the spots sold out for our Photo Sessions In The Field and The Honey Tastings all sold out, this first annual Living The Lavender Lifestyle Month at Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm has been everything we planned for and more!

That being said, having all those events can really put a strain on you, so we've decided why not work with all the other lavender farms in the area and coordinate events on each of our farms? So, we've begun the works on a new project to put a fresh face on the Central Coast! Stay tuned, you never know how things will change around the farmstand!

Stay Tuned for the Central Coast Lavender Trail!

It's been a herculean effort on the part of this mother/son team; what other farm in the Santa Barbara County area had so many events in one month?

If you missed out on being apart of our events, don't worry, we have our private events that we can set up for any size occasion, whether it be a party of 10 or just you wanting to experience a personal class, be sure to check out our private classes here. Be advised one week of lead time is necessary to prepare a private instruction, so message us if you are interested!

They loved the private wreathmaking class, so will you!

The Farm To Table Dinner Was A Smash Hit!

Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm

Today at Santa Rita Hills Lavender Farm we had our first ever Farm To Table Dinner and all that can be said is that everyone LOVED IT!

We are so grateful to all those who we partnered with to put on this event, with a special thanks to the chef and his crew from SY Kitchen and Nella’s Kitchen, the food was spectacular! Grady the guitarist did an impressive act on his acoustic Flamingo guitar, and of course Melville for sponsoring the wine, everyone did a phenomenal job!

Santa Barbara may have been jam packed this weekend but everyone had plenty of space to relax and stretch out after a long week.

Finally the event wouldn’t be possible without the support of the Allan Hancock Rodeo Team, an amazing group of people working with a great cause! The farmstand has never been so crowded, can’t wait to do it all over again!
